Read Exodus 25:1-22 about the Ark of the Covenant and Numbers 14, the account of the first
time the Israelites spied out the promised land. God told them to take the land, yet all of the
spies except Joshua and Caleb would not go due to fear. This caused forty years of wandering
in the wilderness leading up to the book of Joshua.
What do you learn about the importance of God’s presence and blessing to accomplishing
human plans in these passages?
